A Little Quilting

Modern quilting is a great way for many to express their creativity through textiles. It's not what floats my boat for piecing, but I LOVE what others are doing.
Except when I get a quilt that has no piecing and tons of open space.
It's not a "modern" quilt design, but it's perfect for this top. I'm heading to town to get some thread. I have 300 spools and none are the right color. I'm sure my LQS will have exactly what I need to finish this piece.
Don't you love the backing?  It's perfect for this quilt.  I love the color, it's so bright and cheerful and it's geen great to be working on this piece right now.  I've given JT a sneak peek today, but until she sees the finished piece, I must keep the whole piece under wraps.

So I've been quilting and job searching. The quilting is much more enjoyable, but I make sure I do my resume submissions every morning before I go downstairs to quilt.

We just finished getting 10" of snow. I know, if you live in the mid-west, you are probably laughing right now. But for us, in this tiny corner of the US, we don't get snow very often. The roads are bare, but I still can't see my backyard.

Stay warm,

Beautiful quilting, Sharon. I can see how you have drawn your lines to help you fill the space with those beautiful feathery designs.
You are a smart woman to make yourself do the resume submissions before quilting. That takes discipline! : )

ooohhh..I think I could do that. It is very pretty. That looks like a whole lot more fun than looking for a job. Good luck anyways.

Love your feather/flame quilting! And I think you did a masterful job of filling in all the "blank" space.

You got 10 inches of snow?! Wow! We just got some wind, and sunny for the last two days. Over 50* too. It's nice for a change. I'll see if I can send some your way. ;)

As far as thread goes - isn't it amazing how many shades of red (or any color) there are out there? lol
Your quilting is fabulous, definitely looks great on that modern style quilt!

Hopefully your snow will melt quickly! It's been a weekly event here the past 2 months.

Beautiful quilting. Just like everything else we never seem to have just what we need at the moment we need it. Ten inches of snow sound like a lot to a girl from GA. Good luck with the job search.

Your quilting is beautiful. The design reminds me of fern leaves. Best wishes on the job hunt. I know the right thing will come for you.

JT here. Sharon is a Master Quilter. Her expertise is what makes this quilt. The pattern is called The Nest. If not for her feather, fern, flame stitching it would have been bland. Thank you Sharon. Keep on being wonderful.
