A Fresh Start?

January is always a great time to take stalk in what I have going on with my quilting. I like to make lists and put all my projects into a category of completion. This gets done every few years, but it requires putting my hands on every box and bin and drawer with a project in it. Needless to say, it hasn't happened yet. In lieu of doing that, I decided to turn over my design wall to a fresh, threadless side. Yes, this is what the reverse looked like. I guess I've been down this road once before!

Next....
Group my Sacagawea blocks together and see where I'm at. How can you tell I love the applique, those blocks always seemed to be calling my name. I have another appliqued block as a WIP, but have been focusing the time for hand work on a different project. None of the appliques have been trimmed yet, and the basket block just needs to be sewn together.  I have all the border sections all hand pieced and ready to go.

Here is the second last What Not's from Kim Diehl. One more to go and the first 6 will be finished. OK, they will be pieced. OK so one still needs the applique done, geez....... I'm trying! We will be starting another round of 6 months for her next release of fabric and patterns, come on, join the fun. Fabric Etc. has made this BOM very affordable, check out her site for more info or give Carol a call.

This first two weeks of January has been a blur for me, but Christmas is all packed away for another year, and I'm looking ahead to a lot of great things in 2015.

As much as I hate to admit it, lists really do help. Mine is so long, I just don't know where to start. Love your projects. Good luck on your progress on them all.

I'm a list person too. It helps me from wandering too far astray. It took me a moment to figure out what your photo was of your deign wall. It looks like you've been busy.

I'm with you on this. Fresh start. Tidy the sewing space, take stock of what has to be done, make lists etc and then realise that this is exactly what I did at the start of 2014 and my lists and projects haven't altered much. Guess that's is what people mean when they say quilters must be patient people!
