That's what blogging is without a camera. One more week and then I'll have some things to post. I've been working with some pinks, I've made a second Lib Log Cabin, my grape clusters with BTCT is in progress, I've worked on another very large customer quilt and I'm almost finished the applique project I made in Gwen Marstons workshop last month.
Now if only the sun would shine for more than an afternoon, my garden and flowers might grow.
Summer is a slower time for many bloggers, what with vacations, gardening, kids out of school so I don't feel too bad with my lack of posting.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there, I had breakfast with my dad before he left for home, 5 hours away.

Camera AWOL
It was a great birthday celebration with my friends. But I lost my camera. Then my g.f. found it the next day. But she lives 40 minutes away so I won't get it back until the 24th weekend.
Hmmm
I wonder if this had anything to do with the camera going awol?

I Love this Day
Yup, it's my birthday and I'm another year older, whoohoo to that. I have no issues of aging, the alternative is the pits. A few wrinkles, some gray that my hairdresser can cover and another year wiser.
I got up today and did this.
I mowed my lawn. Good lord it is big.
So then I could do this, guilt free! This is a customer quilt, all her dh's Harley Davidson t-shirts. It's a fantastic quilt. Oh, did I say quilt, it's a car cover it's so huge. I hope her hubby is tall! It was fun to quilt this and see all the places he has been to that have Harley shops.
I have sliding doors that look out from my studio to my back yard, and it just eats at me if my yard needs tending and I'm quilting.
This is why I have a big yard, I have these two who like to run around, lay around and generally just hang out in the back yard.
Playing shy with the camera.
Please, can you get this cat off of me? hehehe
I love my pets.
Have a great day! Oh, Go Canucks Go. We are one win away from bringing the Stanley Cup to Vancouver. How exciting. I'm talking ice hockey, for those who don't know.

Longarm Quilting
This is keeping me busy this weekend. I love how turned out..
Freehand feathers and flowers, leaves and curly q's.
Wavy lines and mini flowers and leaves in the corners of the Churn Dash.
Very pretty applique, just enough to add interest to a pieced center.
I've not seen this pattern before, and it took a while for me to see the Churn Dash. Thanks Louise, for helping me with the designs, I'm loving how it looks.

Mixed Bag of Projects
A while ago BumbleBeans (I think it was V) blogged about novelty fabrics and showed her cute ones. These are my two favorites that live in my sewing room.
I really must make something from these and get some enjoyment from them!
Last week I took a picture of my design wall, I had a lot of things going on. I have got my 30's reproduction BOM blocks sewn together, the ones I cut and organized while away in April. I've got two other blocks that needed applique also finished. I'm eating this elephant one bite at a time.
I gave these a try. They are very labor intensive and the only way I would work on a Pineapple piece would be to pre cut all the strips and organize them like a log cabin project. I do love how they look though.
I'm still plugging away on my Sisters Choice, I've re-engaged on my Beyond the Cherry Tree applique BOM, prepping 4 more blocks this week. I'm about 1/2 way through the hand quilting on my little folk flowers from Gwen's workshop. Lots going on and most is on the back burner as I have customer quilts that are my priority for the next few weeks. I got my lawn mowed as soon as I got home tonight so at least I won't look out the window feeling that I need to be doing yard work instead of quilting.
Sew a bit this weekend, it'll make you feel good!

Blogger Issues
Is it just me or are others having problems with Blogger these past few days? I can't seem to leave messages on some peoples blogs because I can't log in. When I go to sign in, it keeps cycling back to the sign in page. Plus on myh own blog, I click on the 'sign in" up in the right corner, that takes me to my Dashboard. Posting isnt' an issue, but it's the logging in and commenting on other blogs. I'm using different computers with different browsers, trying everything. Is anyone else having these issues?

Pink Ribbons
As quilters, I'm sure everyone has worked on quilts that have been donated to a cause. Maybe it was Katrina, or Japan, or the Nashville floods or Basics in NYC. Whatever it is, there was something about the cause that moved you to join in. Last year I donated a quilt to Betsy's 3 Day, 60 Mile walk for the Susan G Koman. We raised $1200 with this quilt, so I will repeat it again this year.
I recently shared with Julie K and within 2 weeks, this showed up in my mailbox.
That prompted me to open up this drawer and get busy. I had two sew days over the weekend. Sunday I cut and sorted for an hour or two.
Monday I did some sewing, pressing and trimming while at my friends place. We did more visiting than sewing, it was a great day with her.
When I came home, I started to lay out the pattern that I've sketched. I need to see where I'm at with blocks. I also found a stack of left overs from last years piece, but I still have a ways to go.
THANK YOU, Julie K. Your generosity is appreciated, not just by me, but for all the people this quilt will help. I use the opportunity to spread the word about self exams and mammograms. They save lives!
Sew for a cause, it feels great!
