Decisions, Decisions

I peeked in another box. Then I opened it and started pulling out blocks. Somewhere along the line I must have decided I wanted to use setting squares. I sure cut enough of them.....
a small sample of the pink and brown CW prints set on point with setting squares.
a few blocks straight set.  These are 3 1/2" finished blocks from a swap I did several times a few years ago. Maybe 5 years ago.  Goodness, time flies.
Set side by each.

So what do you think? I'm thinking I might pack these blocks up and let them marinate a little longer!

I really should be opening my JT2 box, our group will meet Saturday for any regrouping or help and our final wrap up will be the first Sat in March. I doubt I'll have my top together, but if I can have my blocks made and be on task with this top, I'll be very pleased.

Are you working on a UFO? I like to think mine are WIPS!

If it isn't speaking to you it might need to marinate longer, but personally, I prefer the straight setting. Kind of surprises me--I usually like things on point. : )

both ways have their advantages...I love pink and brown so look forward to seeing this quilt as a top and which way you like better.
sounds like you need to let it marinate a bit longer!
go work on your JT2 blocks !

Wow, I really like the on point version! I don't know that I have ever seen it set that way...or at least I hadn't noticed seeing it that way. Wouldn't it be cute wit embroidery or appliqué in those plain blocks? Flowers, pies or other old fashioned looking foods, kids, etc... Both settings are beautiful...maybe you can make a smaller project of each rather than a large quilt using one setting. Decisions, decisions... :-)

I'm partial to the on point set with a plain block, but I do like the other setting too. How fun to find these stashed away!!!

Boy I don't know Sharon - love pink and brown & it would be hard to put them away for me. Looks like a box of Valentine Chocolates that just got opened. BTW - the on point setting looks very nice.

Amazing how different the blocks look in the different settings - you have a tough choice to make!

I love your fabric choices for these. I like them on point, but these will look fabulous no matter how you arrange them!

I call mine WIPS too. That way it is not a negative thing. The pinks are great that you are using
