Stop Borders

It was mentioned in my comments that a stop border might look good with the piano key border. Here is one dark purple.
A slightly lighter purple......

and white.

Here is the original with no stop border.

And since I had a few blocks left over, I whipped up a table runner. I'll bind this in the purple that the setting triangles are pieced with if there is enough left over from the quilt. This will make a pretty gift when someone needs a little cheering up.

So what do you think? Dark stop border, white stop border, no stop border? Come on, I know you're not shy about sharing an opinion! :-)

I'm heading on to the night shift tonight. 7 pm to 7 am. I've still got a few pieces left to applique on my Joy of Life, so I'll tuck that into my bag for the 2-5 a.m. grind. Thank goodness it's only for one night.

I vote dark stop! (But that's the usual choice I make on my own quilts...I think it sets everything off nicely.)

I like the slightly lighter purple the best. No matter what you choose, it is going to be a lovely quilt!

Liking the dark border strip - you may end up drawing from a hat based on all the voting!! And oh that piano key border - wonderful!!!

Yes, I agree a stop border was called for and I'm voting against the popular and going for the lighter purple!

This quilt is going to be stunning!

I sort of like the dark stop border, the second choice is the lighter purple stop border.

I like both purple stop borders but would probably choose the lighter one.

Of the two purples, I prefer the lighter one. I feel like the darker one undoes some of the good that happened when you lightened the piano key border.
But I am actually not opposed to the white, either. I would probably want to audition it on a larger part of the quilt before deciding for sure, though.

I like the medium purple stop border fabric or the dark one but not the white. Lovely quilt which ever you choose.
