Aloha

No, I'm not going to Hawaii.  I wish I was the way our summer has shaped up.  Instead, I've completed my first Hawaiian applique.
Here is a batik I picked up while out shop hopping.  I will use it in my next Hawaiian project.

If you have a project that you think it above your skill level, just jump right in.  By the time you finish, your work will have greatly improved, and you'll know if you want to tackle a larger, more detailed piece in the same technique.
Now to hand quilt this and put it together into a pillow case.  I've said it before, I just want more time!

I think the beautiful block you have appliqued and that gorgeous batik would look so good together somehow!!
I am applique challenged, but I can certainly admire it from afar!

Love your Hawaiian appliqué! Only yesterday I was drooling over an old Hawaiian quilt in a book. Will you echo quilt it?

What a particularly nice job you did on those skinny little stems with not much fabric for needle turn. What colour thread are you planning on using?

Great work - sounds like you have learnt loads and are ready for the next challenge! Well done

Must give this a try sometime as I like applique and have seen a snowflake quilt I wanted to do!
