Get Away = Give Away

I've had the opportunity to put my name in the hat for many different drawings all over blogland. Now it's my turn to give back.
I bought an extra copy just to give away to one of my blog readers. Just tell me your favorite quilting book, and if you don't quilt, your favorite current novel that you've just read. No one needs to link back or become a follower, (although it would be nice). Nope, easy as pie, just leave me a comment. Remember, if you comment as No reply, I can't get back in touch with you. I'll ship anywhere in the world, so everyone can put their name in.
I'll take comments until 2:00 pm PST on Monday, May 31 and then I'll draw the winning number and make the announcement on Tuesday.
Have a terrific Memorial Day weekend!
Sharon

What a wonderful giveaway! It's funny, I usually figure out patterns for myself, but I have a lot of quilt books. My favorite(s) are probably Quilts from the Quiltmaker's Gift and More Quilts from the Quiltmaker's Gift. They're full of detailed instructions, multiple pattern sizes, design challenges, block history, and at least three different quilts made from each pattern. Each book features at least one or two quilts that were made by children (usually with help from an adult). I find them to be not only inspiring, but a great reference.

Oh my, favorite quilting book? That all depends on what type of project I want to work on!
I've found that rather than a pattern book or techique book I've been drawn to inspiration books. My all-time favorite and the one I pick up almost daily just to look at the photos is "The Art of Annemieke Mein" Annemieke Mein is an unbelievably gifted textile artist who creates realistic renderings of bugs, birds, and things most of us would stay away from just because of the ewwwww factor. If you ever get a chance to get your hands on this book, you won't be disappointed in her truly amazing artwork.

A very good give-away. I don't have that book. Anything that Jinny Beyer does is well done.

Wow, Jinny Beyer is an awesome giveaway! Hmm, favorite quilt book? It seems to change depending what I'm currently obsessed with! America's Heritage Quilts is among my all-time favorites since it is what got me started on my quilting Journey.

I love books that show the quilting really clearly, not just the patchwork, and love scrap quilts at the moment as a way of dealing with my stash. But my real favorite book for inspiration is 'Quilting Masterclass' by Katherine Guerrier - different styles, techniques - just fabulous!

Sharon--what a generous person you are for doing this giveaway---and with such a wonderful book. My favorite book(s) is Lynette Jensen's "The Best Quilts from Thimbleberries" and also Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day books. When not quilting, I enjoy reading the books by Jennifer Chiaverini. Her series follows some quilters, their lives, retreats, etc. I have decided to read her entire series--I'm just about to begin book #3. Thanks for doing this giveaway. Verna (dandvthomas@q.com)

My favorite quilting book is QUILTMAKING BY HAND BY JINNY BEYER so naturally Id love the book that follows ! Thanks so much for the opportunity. I really mostly only like hand quilting by the way, not much of a machine fan like Jinny..

What a generous give-away. I don't have a lot of quilt books. Most of mine are quite old. My all time favorite is It's OK if You Sit On My Quilt by Mary Ellen Hopkins. As for leisure reading, I loved The Help and am enjoying some mindless easy reading right now....The Cat Who..series by Lillian Jackson Braun. Fun little mysteries.

I think I may be too late for the giveaway, but I am finding your blog very interesting. State documentation books and anything on quilt history.

My favorite quilt book is a vintage BHG book full of traditional quilts beautifully done. There are none of the modern tips or shortcuts in it but there is a star quilt I really want to make some day. This is a great giveaway!
