Doll Quilt Swap

I'm going to make the deadline, really, I am. I've never done a little quilt swap like this before but I have to say, it's been a great experience for me. I knew exactly what I was going to make as soon as I got the name of my recipient.  Lori at Humble Quilts is the organizer of this project, and the rules guidelines were very simple.
I started making one for me at the same time, same pattern and colors but a variation of prints. Mine is still sitting amongst a pile of choices, while hers is layered, basted and is being hand quilted. I have about 3" around the outside and the border to quilt and I'm confident it will be in the mail by the deadline.

Have you done a swap before? Were you pleased with what you got in return? For me, that's not the point, it's doing something special for a fellow blogger/quilter, even though we get one in return.

I have participated in three swaps so far. I have been pleased with what I have received and had a very fun time making gifts to send. I have tried new techniques and found new quilting friends.

I think swaps are a good way to meet new bloggers while having fun playing with fabric.
I can't wait to see more of your swap. But I guess we will all have to wait.
I've been working on mine too, just a lot slower!

Can't wait until you can show us the whole thing.
I have never done a group swap--but I have swapped a few times with individuals.
I've had a few friends tell me they have been badly burned in group swaps. After making something special they felt they received a carelessly made piece in return. That is too bad.
I liked Lori's guidelines, but didn't have time right now to join the fun.

Most swaps I have participated in have been good ones. You have a good attitude about the swap....doing your best regardless of the final outcome. It is the way I look at it when I do participate in one. I am not sure if you receive from the same person you send to in this swap.

Looking forward to seeing what the quilt looks like that you are making for the swap.

I participated in a few small quilt swaps before. The first ones were wonderful. The last swap I didn't receive a quilt in return. I know that most quilters are generous and fair.
